MOLLE Gear - Pouches, Attachments & Accessories

MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment. It is the U.S. military standard attachment system used on tactical vests, plate carriers, backpacks, and duty belts. The webbing rows are technically called PALS — Pouch Attachment Ladder System.

Thread the pouch's vertical straps through alternating rows of the carrier's webbing in an interlocking pattern. A correctly attached MOLLE pouch has zero movement or bounce. If it shifts when you jump, it is not fully threaded.

Any carrier using standard PALS webbing — which includes all Rothco plate carriers in our collection — accepts standard MOLLE attachments. Laser cut carriers use a slightly different slot system but most MOLLE pouches are compatible with both.

Traditional MOLLE uses woven webbing rows stitched onto the carrier. Laser cut uses slots cut directly into the carrier material. MOLLE is heavier but more proven for long-term durability. Laser cut is lighter and has a cleaner profile. Both accept the same pouches.

Individual pouch capacity varies by product. The attachment system itself is rated for significant loads — military plate carriers are regularly carried with 20+ pounds of MOLLE-mounted gear. Check individual product pages for pouch-specific weight ratings.
